Luminosity Gaming got off on the right foot at DreamHack Masters Malmö after easing past TyLoo 16-7 on Mirage.
DreamHack Masters Malmö kicked off with Luminosity Gaming, the red-hot favourites going into the event after winning MLG Columbus, taking on TyLoo, who are desperate to make their mark in the international scene to prove the strength of Asian Counter-Strike, which is on the rise.
Mirage is normally a very strong map for Luminosity, and the Brazilian team made sure to prove their credentials as they got out to an impressive 8-0 lead. TyLoo simply had no response to Luminosity's pace, and even when they had the man advantage, the Chinese team would still lose rounds thanks to a significant difference in terms of experience.

TyLoo then called a tactical pause in a bid to improve their defense, but the pattern of the game remained unchanged as Luminosity continued to operate with a lot of freedom, looking for those aim duels that they kept winning. It was only when TyLoo were down 0-11 that a round finally went their way, and they managed to build up on that, reducing the deficit to nine rounds at the end of the half to keep their comeback hopes alive.
The Chinese team came strongly from the break, picking up the opening four rounds on the CT side, but then Luminosity regained control of proceedings, winning four rounds in succession to advance to the Upper Bracket final of the Group.
