The 32nd season of ESEA MDL has come to a close in Europe with FORZE and HAVU coming out on top to clinch a spot at the LAN final, while Spirit came in third to join the duo at the Global Challenge.
After the regular season came to an end with names like AVANGAR, CR4ZY, FORZE, and HAVU making it to the playoffs, it was time for the double-elimination bracket stage, which was played from Monday to Wednesday.
Three spots at the seasonal Global Challenge were on offer alongside a chance to fight for a direct ticket to the 11th season of ESL Pro League, reserved for the top-two finishers, and a place in the relegation tournament for the third-placed team.
The double-elimination playoffs saw some surprises, as AVANGAR were eliminated in fifth-sixth place after losses to CR4ZY and HAVU, with Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas's side missing out on the all-important top-three finish as well after conceding a three-map series to the aforementioned Finns in the lower bracket final.
In the meantime, FORZE rallied to a top-two placing through the upper bracket while HAVU came in second place, as Spirit were unable to convert either of their two chances in the upper and consolidation finals to finish third in the league.
